If you get close to anyone—if you start to make anyone in the world your equal rather than someone placed high above you, they will disappoint you somehow, in a way that is big or small. If you make someone your equal, and put them in a place where they not only expect something from you, but you expect something from them, too, you are destined to lose something, whatever that may be. Although, on second thought, someone does not need to be your equal to disappoint you. You can be disappointed by anyone, at any time, in any place. Be warned.
