Shin looked old at 27;
her figure was lost, and her
eyes were empty,
and she sighed more than she spoke.
I guess that's what
this place does to you, though.
it ages you.
wears you down.
not just your body, but
your heart.
it leeches on your hopes,
drains your passion, and
leaves you weary and woeful.
most start drinking, to
counteract the curse.
I began writing,
I'm not sure which is worse.
I wonder who Shin was
in high school.
what she wanted to do
who she wanted to be --
it surely couldnt have been
a ghost.
